Lads Day at the races

Ray Hicks, landlord of the Three Crowns Scouthead, suggested the idea to Saddleworth Round Table – and donated a percentage of his profits to their charities. P6 RTable chair Ian Eardley receives cheq

And Round Table chairman, Ian Eardley (pictured), who attended the afternoon jamboree, was presented with a £200 cheque by kind-hearted Ray.

Said Ian: “We decided instead of sitting at home while wives and girlfriends attended various ‘Ladies Days’ we would send a team of able volunteers to join in the excitement at the pub.

“Ray’s kind donation will be used in conjunction with other fundraisers to support community-spirited events later in the year, including Winter Wonderland.”
