WHAT BETTER way to begin the new golf season for Saddleworth lady captain Pam Tomlinson to win her own tournament.
Pam and lady vice-captain Ann Walsh triumphed in lady captain’s drive in, a 12-hole competition.
They scored 29 points in the Stableford to finish three clear of runners-up Jenny Knight and Jean Dervan.
Winners of the captain’s drive in for the men were Giacomo Cavallino and Neil Mooney who scored 43 points.
They finished four points ahead of second-placed Paul Badderley and Graham Wildbore.
Third were Gary Hall and Gary Chadderton, also with 39 points, while fourth place went to Marcus Wray and Ben Pullen who had 38.
Winners of a three-ball alliance for the ladies were Julie Ward, Jane Wild and Barbara Shuttleworth with a score of 62.
Runners up two shots behind were Anita Scholes, Linda Newman and Linda Kenworthy while third place went to Pam Taylor, Sue Knebel and Eileen Waddington.
