A DENSHAW pub and restaurant has closed its doors marking the end of a culinary era for the village.
Barny’s on Rochdale Road served its last pint on Sunday, January 6 after landlord Chris Green confirmed the news via social media, thanking customers for their support.
It is believed the building has been sold but the future use remains unclear.
Barny’s was previously known as the Alpine Restaurant and with the Moorcock Inn and La Pergola/Clough Manor formed a triangle of eateries that had locals and ‘out of towners’ flocking to dine.
Despite the closure, Denshaw still remains well served for food through the Junction Inn, Ram’s Head and the Printers Arms, all on the A672.
