THERE were Halloween goodies for the winners of the Lees and Springhead Spooky Scarecrow Trail, which raised £230 for Whit Friday band contest funds.
The event was run by LSG Business Hub over the October half-term and saw many families follow the trail to find the spooky scarecrows, with many wearing fancy dress for the occasion.
After collecting competition sheets and maps, participants hunted down the scarecrows and identified which children’s books they were from.
Most scarecrows were placed in shop windows but St Thomas’ Leesfield CE Primary, Cornerhouse Day Nursery, Kids Planet and The New Village Nursery also joined in.
Winners Jessica Burtonwood, 8, Chloe Smith, 8, and Charlie Robinson, 10, received hampers of Halloween goodies provided by Ken Hough at Age UK and Laura Ashworth at LA Florist.
The favourite Scarecrow was Jack Skellington from Nightmare before Christmas and a close second was Addison’s Scooby Doo and Shaggy.
Up next is the Elf Hunt, with details to be announced soon. Keep up-to-date on the LSG Business Hub Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/lsgbusinesshub/
