Man charged after pensioner robbed in Oldham Town Centre

A MAN has been charged after a 79-year-old woman was robbed in Oldham Town Centre. 

GMP logoDarren Lees (07/01/1991) of no fixed address has been charged with robbery, fraud, shoplifting and criminal damage.

He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court this morning, Monday 13 February 2017.

On Wednesday 8 February 2017, a 79-year-old woman was out with friends in Oldham Town Centre when she was forced to the floor and had her handbag stolen.

She suffered bruising to her face, left arm, leg and a broken scapula, which she received hospital treatment for and is recovering well.
