A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after a firearms incident in Oldham.
Ethan Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere will face two counts of the offence, a section 18 assault, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life following the events on Shaw Road on Thursday, January 16.
The 23-year-old, of no fixed abode, has been remanded in custody ahead of a scheduled appearance at Manchester Salford Magistrates Court.
Three juveniles, alongside an 18-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, a man in his 20s and a man in his 40s who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, have all been bailed pending further investigation.
Police officers have also recovered a firearm, which is currently being analysed.
The victim – an 18-year-old man – was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a stable condition.
Detective Chief Inspector Charlotte Whalley, of Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team said: “Our investigation has been meticulous since the incident happened, which has now led to us charging one of the eight males we arrested.
“Whilst most firearms incidents are targeted and do not pose a threat to the wider public, we know the fear and anxiety these incidents cause amongst our communities.
“We have seized a total of 304 firearms since 2021, underlining our ongoing commitment to rid the streets of these weapons, ensuring those who live and work in Greater Manchester feel safe.”
