A MOSSLEY investment expert is donating profits from his latest book to The Christie after the specialised cancer centre helped his mother overcome lung cancer.
Stephen Sutherland has written ‘How to Make Money in ISAs and SIPPs’, which includes advice, figures and graphs, to help individuals invest their money wisely and so secure a richer retirement.
And he has decided that all profits from sales of the book, which has a foreword by author of ‘The 80/20 Principle’ Richard Koch, will benefit The Christie in Manchester.
Stephen, who is lead investor and Chief Investment Strategist at ISACO, explained: “The Christie played a big part in helping our mum fight and beat lung cancer. This was my way of giving something back.”
He continued: “This is first book of its kind to focus on how to secure a richer retirement using the UK’s two top tax shelters: Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) and Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs).
“It’s the ultimate guide for ‘affluent’ DIY investors approaching retirement, or in retirement looking to achieve better returns.
“Inside you learn how ISAs and SIPPs can boost your returns, create a tax-free income for life and reduce the risk of running out of money during retirement.
Stephen, who regularly comments on ISA investing for television, radio and newspapers, added: “Hopefully my new book will sell as good as my last one, ‘Liquid Millionaire’ which became a bestseller.”
And he believes that now is a prime time to invest, especially with the ISA investment changes announced in the last budget.
“It’s good to remind ourselves that we each get an annual ISA allowance of up to £11,880 for this tax year which will increase to £15,000 from July 1, 2014,” he said.
“All adults with savings or investments should have an ISA or SIPP – otherwise they are simply handing money to the taxman needlessly.”
