- The Millgate Arts Centre has ambitious plans to raise £100,000 over the next three years to continue its development as a community theatre.
Their ‘Building the Future’ appeal is raising funds through to the centenary celebration of Saddleworth Players in 2027.
The first project to benefit will be the stage area, which will be refurbished and modernised in summer 2025, along with an improved lighting rig and set capability to benefit performers and provide a better experience for audiences.
Future phases will focus on improving different parts of the Millgate building, including converting the bar into a multipurpose studio theatre, and developing the future generations with Saddleworth Players Youth Theatre (SPY).
You can contribute to the ‘Building the Future’ appeal by making a one-off or regular donation of any amount you choose, becoming a Friend of Millgate Arts Centre or giving a seat your name for a £150 donation.
