Oldham Mountain Rescue assists injured walker in Saddleworth

OLDHAM  Mountain Rescue Team (OMRT) responded to an urgent call from the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) on Friday, January 3, regarding a female walker who had slipped and injured her ankle in a field near Delph.

The team swiftly mobilised, with 15 members arriving on the scene to assist the casualty.

A medic assessed the injured woman before applying a splint to her ankle. She was then transferred onto a stretcher and carried to the roadside.

The rescue operation lasted approximately 1.5 hours. A spokesperson for OMRT praised the coordinated effort of the team, highlighting their commitment to providing prompt and professional assistance in emergency situations.
