A NETWORK of Saddleworth professionals is celebrating after sharing £1million worth of business across the area in just three years.
BNI Dovestones, part of a worldwide network, was set up in 2010 to help members exchange quality business referrals to help local companies grow and develop.
And thanks to members passing on almost £3,000 word of mouth referrals in their supportive and structured environment, the group hit the seven-figure target in July this year.
Chapter director Kevin Saunders said: “Some groups get that in a year but they have been established for longer and we are really just growing.
“It’s great to generate and keep business in the community with local companies.”
The chapter has almost 20 members who attend weekly meetings, with just one member from each professional sector allowed to join.
Meetings include members sharing advice and guidance, giving helpful strategies and presentations and passing on business opportunities.
Dom Wint, owner of website design company Clean Page Design, joined the chapter in May to help boost work for his two-year-old company.
He said: “I decided to try out a meeting and found it really useful an interesting so I became a member. It’s given my business the kick it needed.
“It’s really helped my business as it has helped me find work for myself and others. It’s about working as a team and helping each other.”
Across the North West, 19 chapters are looked after by Area Director Steve Crozier, who praised BNI Dovestone’s progress in their early years.
He said: “This is a great achievement for them and they will only do better as they grow. It takes great teamwork to get to know each other and help others this far.
“Local area groups make sure everybody is getting the support and help they need to get the most for their businesses.”
BNI is the world’s largest and most successful business referral network with billions of members worldwide who meet weekly to pass each other opportunities.
BNI Dovestones meets every Friday morning at Clough Manor in Denshaw. For more information, please contact Kevin Saunders: 07774 804535.
