Husband and wife team Oliver and Kathryn Dickson have recently opened the doors of Play2 Diggle at the former Bouncers Site at Robinson Works on Huddersfield Road.

And with the philosophy of “Don’t grow up… it’s a trap” they are bringing a wealth of experience and success from running their first play centre Play Oldham on Higginshaw Lane in Oldham for the last 11 years.

Kathryn said: “We are really excited to have a second business now in Saddleworth. The area needs to be served by a play centre and after a lot of hard work, we’re finally open.

“We did not want to follow the previous tenant’s format as that is not what we’re experienced in so we have a brand new three-storey play frame designed specifically to fit the space.

Oliver continued: “Although our first play centre is open to children up to the age of 11, we wanted to create something bespoke to the younger end of the market, so Play2 Diggle is for children aged eight and under.

“We have an amazing baby and toddler space, specifically designed so parents can sit in and play with their little ones in the large soft play area or watch them from the café.”

Improvements have also been made, including new windows, décor and carpets, to give a fresh and comfortable space for parents and visitors.

And a unique Milkshake Bar offers freshly-made milkshakes of your choice of flavour, from Smarties and Oreos to Jaffa Cakes, Kit Kats or fresh fruit.

Kathryn added: “We have extended the kitchen and café bar, developed new menus, brought an amazing barista coffee machine and built an open plan party area.

“It’s a great space to meet friends for a slice of delicious chocolate cake and a steaming cappuccino.

“As a small local business we are keen to support local traders so our milk is supplied by F Yates and Son Dairy Farm and fresh cakes are from the Village Manor Bakery.”

The Play Oldham team also has more than a decade’s experience offering safe and fun visits for both parents and children that are value for money.

They also host parties, seasonal events and one-off extravaganzas and are taking bookings now – please call for more details.
