THE MOUTH-WATERING smells of homemade pies and pastries greet guests as they approach Waterside Mill in Greenfield…
For Ravenstone Catering’s new ‘Unit 5 Food Bar’ has thrown open its doors to offer a delicious spread at reasonable prices for customers.
On the menu are breakfast rolls, soup, fresh sandwiches and wraps, a salad bar, pies and pastries, sausage rolls, jacket potatoes and a host of daily specials.
The bakery has an array of homemade treats including scones and cakes, while hot and cold drinks are on sale, along with healthy Kids Adventure Lunch Boxes.
All this is served up in corner of Ravenstone’s extensive kitchens to offer a tasty stop-off point, with plenty of parking, for staff at the business park as well as passers by.
Chris Chadwick, owner of Ravenstone, explained: “We used to have a cafe and takeaway here but it closed for various reasons, including the recession and Tesco opening.
“We launched the Unit 5 Food Bar in February and so far it’s been a bit slow but positive and people are coming back once they know where we are.
“I’m pleased with it and Men in Sheds have done a really good job helping us get set up.”
The outside of the unit has also been brightened up with colourful planters and flowers, and there are plans to create an outside seating area.
Ravenstone also caters for corporate or private functions and events, for a range of occasions including Christmas birthdays, anniversaries and weddings
