One of the oldest lacrosse clubs in the world has teamed up with Oldham Council Sports Development to give children and adults the opportunity to become a part of their history.
Formed in 1883, Oldham and Werneth is looking to re-establish their senior lacrosse team and are launching new sessions, backed by the England Lacrosse Association.
The hour-and-a-half long sessions are held every Friday at 7.30pm to 9pm at Saddleworth School in Uppermil, including training for under-16s and the chance for adults to make the senior team for the 2014/15 season.
There will also be developing coaches and officials, with people of all ages and abilities welcome.
While for some people the only exposure to lacrosse is watching American high school movies, the 800-year-old sport has deep roots in England, with the national side winning the past two European Championships.
