A FORMER Delph pub is set to be given a new lease of life as a specialist drinks shop and tasting room.
TASTE Saddleworth has been given the official go-ahead to open at the former Rose and Crown pub on King Street, close to the river in the centre of the village.

Those behind the new venture say the plans have been several months in the making, with work now getting under way to transform the premises ahead of opening.
Announcing the news, the team said: “After a few months of deep thought and hoop jumping, we have finally got the official green light to open our specialist drink shop and tasting room, TASTE Saddleworth, right here in our lovely village of Delph.
“We’ll be setting up shop in the old Rose & Crown Pub, just on King Street, by the river.”
The new business will combine a specialist retail offering with a tasting room, adding another hospitality venture to Delph village centre.
An exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, although the team is hoping to welcome its first customers during October if preparations go according to plan.
