A BELOVED cat from a Waterhead care home has won a Best Pet award.
Felix, 14, who lives at Anchor’s Millfield was nominated by residents and staff for being a faithful furry friend, and a customer panel of judges was very impressed by her story.

Ann Marie Widdowson, who works at Millfield, explained: “Felix came to live here with her owner many years ago.
“When her owner passed away, Felix stayed at Millfield, giving great joy and comfort to other residents.
“Our very dear cat makes our home a home. She has given some residents real purpose in life, tending to her needs for food, water and grooming.
“This is also great for promoting happy memories and relieving stress.”
Home manager Sharon Croucher added: “We are all very proud of Felix – she certainly brings happy living to residents and staff at Millfield, so she really deserves this award.”
Almost 300 nominations were sent in for the Happy Living Awards run by Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit care and housing provider.
The awards were launched with six categories: Green Fingered Customer, Best Neighbour, Extraordinary Talent, Grandparent of the Year, Community Champion and Best Pet.
