PREPARE to be frightened in the town centre this Halloween as the annual Oldham Spooktacular event is back – and it promises to be scarier than ever.
Taking place on Saturday 28 October, from 11am—4pm, this free event, organised by Oldham Council, provides families with a jam-packed day full of scaryactivities and frightening fun.
With lots of spooky goings-on in Parliament Square, including Epico the fearsome dragon, eerie trees that spring into life and a group of giant drumming ants, it’s a day not to be missed.
Visitors can get up close to spiders, snakes and creepy crawlies with Ranger Rob’s animal experience and can also take part in chilling arts and crafts sessions.
There will also be opportunities to meet the well-known illustrated character ‘The Gruffalo’ at: 11am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Cllr Jean Stretton, Oldham Council Leader, said: “Halloween is a brilliant fun time for families, so get yourselves into the spooky spirit with our Oldham Spooktacular event – it’s a fantastic day out for residents of all ages.
“Don’t forget to pop into Tommyfield Market for a pumpkin and your Halloween costume.”
You can park for free for up to three hours on all Council-owned town centre car parks every Saturday and Sunday. Just take a ticket from the pay and display machine and place it on your vehicle dashboard.
