‘The Big Bang’ is returning to Oldham Edge boasting another stunning line-up of free family-orientedentertainment on Thursday, November 5.

The Oldham Edge site will open from 5pm starting with a funfair and delicious food stalls and families will also be kept warm by a brilliant stage show from 6pm onwards.

Taking centre-stage will be a mind blowing pyrotechnics masterclass from Fantastic Fireworks, who were crowned winners of the British Fireworks Championship earlier this month.

They will deliver their unique mix of multi-shots, rockets, fountains, screechers and stars to a display that is themed ‘Out of this World’.

Thingumajig Theatre will bring a ‘wow’ factor as they unleash their ‘Jellish’ show featuring giant illuminated creatures that will transform the field into a strange and magical in-between world.

Other highlights will include the thunderous and illuminating Brazilian beats of the Juba De Leao drummers and a dazzling fire-juggling display from The Fireman and his team.

Host Elliot Eastwick, the popular local breakfast show DJ from event partners Revolution 96.2, will guide spectators through proceedings.

Yet again there’s a special treat in store for one lucky child – a free prize draw offering the chance to push the button and launch the fireworks display at 7pm.

Jim McMahon, Oldham Council Leader, said: “We’ve got another stunning line-up on offer at The Big Bang this year – and again it’s all absolutely free, fun and safe for families.

“Around 15,000 people attended last time and this year we’ve worked harder than ever to ensure the theme runs throughout the show and performances, so it should be an even better experience.

“I’d also like thank this year’s event sponsors – the NSL Group which manages our parking offer in Oldham – for their sponsorship and support.”

More details of attractions and arrangements will be publicised in the run-up to November 5.

The Big Bang webpage at www.oldham.gov.uk/bonfire hosts a site map and all the other event information you will need.

Oldham Council is again offering the use of all its town centre car parks free of charge from 3pm on the day.

The following items – alcohol, sparklers, fireworks and fires – will not be permitted on site and will be confiscated. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
