AN INSPIRING outdoor classroom and gardening school will be one step closer to being a reality for a Dobcross school after their next fundraiser.
Holy Trinity School Dobcross has hosted a range of events over the last two years, organised by the PTA ‘Friends of Dobcross School’, to raise the £25,000 needed.
And they hope that after their next fundraiser – their annual summer village fete complete with games, sports, face painting, a bouncy castle and live music – they will hit their target.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 9 at the school from 2pm, admission adults £2, children 50p.
The money will allow the school to start the build of the new classroom and poly growing tunnel.
Holy Trinity is already a ‘forest school’, which means the reception class benefits from hands-on learning in the nearby woodland and spend time exploring the outdoors.
The new classroom will provide all pupils with an all-weather teaching space as well as a gardening space to grow vegetables and interact with nature.
Other fundraising events have included chocolate bingo, fashion shows, cake sales, discos, Christmas fayres, a comedy night and a cabaret night for parents.
