ANOTHER SPECTACLE of live music and entertainment will return to Delph this year as preparations for Party in the Park 2017 are well underway.
The annual family event attracted a record-breaking 1,500 festival goers to Delph and Dobcross Cricket Club last September in its eleventh year.
And another great turnout is expected this time around on Saturday, September 16 by the organising Wake Up Delph Team.
Phil Beckwith, one of the organisers, said: “There is a great line-up of live music on the bill once more, with some great bands and artists.
“We are really looking forward to them performing another fantastic show and it promises to be a spectacular event.”
Music will include a return for the original Stax of Soul (not a band of the same name recently performing in Saddleworth), who are back by popular demand.
Also on the bill are local acts Jake Fletcher and local duo Sparks, along with top mow town sounds from The Fantastics.
For the first time Elvis will be visiting in the form of top tribute Kirk Kreole, and there will also be debut for ‘Walk Like A Man’, a tribute to the musical Jersey Boys – The Story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.
Delphman Gilbert Symes will be compere for the day, which will come to a rousing end with a Last Night of the Proms finale and fantastic fireworks display.
Throughout the day there will be refreshments available, including a hot food and a beer tent.
Money raised will go to the Wake Up Delph Team who are committed to helping the community and organising the Christmas Lights switch-on each December.
Tickets for Party in the Parky 2017 will go on sale from Saturday, June 17 at post offices in Uppermill and Delph, at Delph and Dobcross Cricket Club, or call the ticket hotline: 07716 335822. All gazebo pitches and corporate hospitality gazebos have been sold already.
