A TEAM of Saddleworth fundraisers went the distance for charity as they completed the ‘Resolution Run’ in aid of the Stroke Association.
Sam Touil and seven members of the ‘Fitness Factory’ box-fit and circuit class he runs at Friezland Parish Hall took on the 5km, 10km or 15km challenge around Heaton Park. 
For most of the team the challenge was a first but, with just two months of training, all eight completed the race after choosing either to power walk or run.
Sam said: “The run was a lot more undulating than we expected. All of the team managed to complete their chosen distance and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
“The weather was ideal, glorious sunshine. Having spoken to the team since, everyone was a little sore for a couple of days but now are ready for our next challenge.”
Their next effort will see the team bike ride from Manchester to Liverpool on May 26 to raise money for NSPCC.
