PREPARE FOR a fright on a spooky ghost walk around Uppermill which will reveal the darker side of the village to celebrate Halloween.
Stories of ghosts and murders from the area’s past will be told by host Mark Whiteley on the scary but informative and entertaining stroll, lasting around 90 minutes.
Young and old, believers or sceptics are all invited to join in the Halloween Specials, which will take place on October 29, 30 and 31 at 8pm – 9.30pm.
There will also be Kids’ Ghost Walk on the same days at 5pm – 6.30pm, suitable for children aged six or older.
The Ghost Walks, which were launched last year, are organised by the Hard Graft Theatre Company, a touring theatre company based in Oldham and founded by Mark in 2000.
He said: “The walks will reveal the ghostly and darker side of the village. When I was doing my research and writing the route, I was amazed how many stories there are about here.
“I found out there are quite a lot of sightings and supernatural activity on Uppermill High Street, right in the middle of the village.
“It will be fun but it will be scary too, especially if you choose to come on the later one when it’s dark, as it is a ghost walk!”
For the Uppermill Ghost Walks please meet in the Civic Hall Car Park. For more information and to book tickets (discounts of group bookings) please visit: www.ghostwalk.hardgraft.co.uk or call 07956 913 666.
