Saddleworth Male Voice Choir: Handel’s Messiah

SADDLEWORTH MALE voice choir and augmented ladies chorus will keep with tradition as they perform Handel’s Messiah for the 51st consecutive year.

Under musical director Damian J Cunningham, the 32-strong male choir will be joined by 48 females from local churches, musical societies and choirs for the performance on Saturday, December 21.P16 Saddleworth Male Voice Choir

They will be accompanied once again by the Pennine Orchestra, which, under the leadership of Donald Clarke, has played with the choir since 1982.

The performance will take place in the Uppermill Civic Hall at 7pm. Tickets priced at £15, £12 and £10 can be obtained from Saddleworth Museum, Uppermill Post Office or David Davies: 01457 873182.

The choir will hold their Annual Dinner at the Civic Hall on Saturday, January 18, 2014 with popular folk singer, actor, and comedian Bernard Wrigley as guest speaker. Tickets can be obtained from David Davies.
