The open day will involve the chance to look around the front and back of the theatre, see the newly renovated changing rooms and explore backstage if you haven’t seen it before.

Additionally, there is the chance to meet the actors from this season and next season’s shows, explore the lighting box and even take a turn on the stage yourself.

Saddleworth Players will be reviewing this season’s plays and looking forward to what they have to offer next season, with the Directors and Playing committee talking through them all.

At 3pm there will be a presentation about the new season and the exciting collaboration ‘Saddleworth Live’ which starts in September.

There will be coffee, tea, cakes or a glass of wine or beer available. This is wonderful event and opportunity to meet other members and subscribers of the society.

To book a free spot for the day go online.

Saddleworth Players produce five plays per season, a Christmas production and participates in the four-yearly Saddleworth Festival of the Arts.

Their last show of the 2016/17 season – ‘The Day After the Fair’ which is based on a short story by Thomas Hardy – runs from May 20 until May 27. Tickets are available online or call 01457 874644.

Next year’s season will feature productions of: ‘Moonlight & Magnolias’, ‘Great Expectations’, ‘Farndale Avenue Townswomen’s Guild’, ‘April in Paris’ and ‘We Three Sisters’.
