SPECTATORS HEADING for Saddleworth Rangers’ first home game of the season on Saturday, March 12 are advised of possible traffic delays due to carriageway improvement works.
Rangers’s National Conference Division Two game against Blackbrook at Shaw Hall Bank Road, Greenfield, kicks off at 2.30pm.
But part of the road will be closed from 8am until 4pm, and diversions will be in operation as part of two days of repairs.
In addition, there will be temporary traffic signals at the Chapel Road/Oldham Road junction.
However, Unity Partnership Highways engineer, Richard Edwards, says provisions will be made to allow access to the ground for the Blackbrook team coach.
And speaking at Wednesday’s Transport and Traffic Sub Committee Mr Edwards confirmed a supervisor will be on site during the works in case of problems arising from the closures. Full access will be given to emergency vehicles throughout the works.
Rangers, already through to the Standard Cup final, are expecting a decent size crowd for their campaign owner following last week’s 18-10 win at Dewsbury Celtic to launch their 2016 season.
