SADDLEWORTH Round Table has spread festive cheer to organisations across the area with a series of donations.
The group, which has raised and donated thousands of pounds to local good causes and charities since 1958, has given funds to both young and old.
And they have been used for a variety of different things, including Christmas lights, jackets and pygmy goats.
The animals were bought by community interest company Intraquest, which specialises assisting neurodivergent or vulnerable young adults.

They approached Round Table requesting help to buy some pygmy goats to help with therapy.
And after £1,500 was granted, they were purchased to help service users and money also aids their ongoing daily care.
Saddleworth Carers Group has been allocated £2,000 over the next 12 months as the Round Table believes: “The hard work of carers in our local community often flies below the radar.
“But it’s also important to make sure carers get adequate respite from the marvellous work they do.”
And Friezland Brass Band, long-term supporters of Uppermill’s Christmas Lights switch on has received £750 towards members’ new outdoor jackets.
In My Shoes, a Springhead-based theatre group for disabled adults in Oldham formed in 2020, will receive more than £2,000 in funding as a direct result of Saddleworth Santa Dash, which the Round Table organises.
And Santa Dash would not be Santa Dash without a sleigh being dragged by a team of Reindeer Morris Men.
A stalwart of local tradition, Saddleworth Morris Men have been handed £1,000 towards the ongoing costs of maintaining the Rushcart.
Saddleworth’s sporting hopes have also been boosted in the form of sponsorship of Uppermill AFC’s shorts and £700 towards new kit for Springhead Under 11s football team.
And it would not be a Round Table year without organising Uppermill’s Christmas lights.
Volunteers braved biting cold to put them up around the village and expect more for 2025.
Dean Ward – who took the lead of the lights this year – said: “Since the Uppermill Lights group disbanded over five years ago, Uppermill has been struggling co-ordinate lights.
“This year, we’ve seen SRT volunteers erecting up to £3,000 worth of new lights with the aim of expanding and improving them for next year.”
