The fixture survived a change of venue and a waterlogged pitch and was eventually played indoors under an adapted set of rules in order for the deadline date to be met.

Having won the toss, hosts Saddleworth put their opponents into bat and their decision paid dividends as they bowled out the visitors for 70 runs.

George McKimm, Joe Aston, Fin Killan, Jacob Holt and year-seven debutant Odhran Tiffany were all among the wicket-takers.

In response, Saddleworth breezed to the required total registering 71 runs without loss.

Aston and George Barnes shared the runs equally, amid a very composed batting partnership.

The team will now travel to Turton School, Bolton, in the next round of the prestigious competition.
