SADDLWORTH School’s year eight netball team shot its way to third place in a new county tournament.
The festival, organised by the Greater Manchester Netball County Association, attracted 30 teams from 22 schools across the 10 boroughs.
To introduce some competition, the teams were seeded into different categories, with first and second placed teams receiving medals.
Saddleworth U13s entered the highest level available and played four long games, finishing third in their group.
The girls performed well as a team and had a great day at Altrincham Grammar School where the festival was held.
There was some exceptional shooting from Mia Standley, a great display of defence from Eva Harratt, Martha King was named player of the tournament and there was some real camaraderie on the court.
The Saddleworth netball squad was: captain Amy Pearce, Jess Meek, Mia Standley, Grace Leddy, Miranda Lowe, Martha King, Millie Wildbore, Anya Whyatt, Eva Harratt and Holly Haynes.
