THIS YEAR’S hugely popular Saddleworth Show will boast a vibrant and colourful football World Cup 2014 theme as young people are promoted to the very heart of the event.
The weekend of family fun will take place Saturday, 12 and Sunday, 13 July with attractions, music and sports some delivered by hard-working young people from across the community.
Visitors can enjoy a range of taster sessions of Kwik Cricket with young Sports Leaders or watch the Latics Cheerleaders ‘Blue Crew’ and the Delph and Dobcross Youth Brass Bands.

They can also tuck into VIP catering undertaken by young people working towards a management qualification, helped by the Rotary ‘Engage, develop, succeed’ initiative.
Other attractions include a football tournament, Circus Sensible, Fun Fair and Children’s Rides to bring the fun and excitement of the World Cup together with the ‘carnival’ atmosphere of Rio.
The Rotary Club of Saddleworth, who organise the event, invites visitors to not only support local charities but also the young people who have worked so hard for this year’s event.
Now in its second year at Saddleworth School, the 2013 show saw record numbers of locals turn up to show their support and raise funds for local good causes.
The show will run on Saturday, July 12 from noon to 5pm and on Sunday, July 13 from 10am to 5pm at Saddleworth School in Uppermill.

Tickets cost £10 for a family ticket (two adults and two children), £4 for adults, £3 for seniors and £2 for children. All proceeds will be donated to local and Rotary charities.
Any local businesses, charities, craft people or organisations are welcome to hire a stall for the weekend, as are individuals who would like to sponsor the show or any of the attractions.
