MEMBERS of the public can take the first steps towards becoming kings of the court after a tennis club teamed up with a coaching services provider to run sessions.
Saddleworth Tennis Club, which lies alongside Saddleworth Cricket Club on Well-I-Hole Road in Greenfield, has got company First Advantage Tennis on board to pass on the benefit of its expertise to club members and the local community.
The aim of the partnership is to provide professional coaching to the community and ultimately increase the number of tennis club members.
Starting on Wednesday, March 27, the sessions will run in blocks of six or seven on Wednesdays.
And ahead of the first date, First Advantage Tennis and Saddleworth Tennis Club are running a meet the coach day with a fun family event at the club called the LTA Quorn Family Cup on Saturday, March 23 from 2pm-3.30pm.
The Quorn Family Tennis Cup is described as, ‘an informal, family doubles competition.’
Junior players under 10-years-old play with an adult family member in the event, which encourages families to play tennis together and eat healthy food to complement an active lifestyle.
Nearly 600 club events ran across the country in 2018 with more than 6,000 players taking part.
