WELL THE election is now over and regardless of the end result, it is fair to say we have endured the longest election campaign in British political history and my suggestion to you all would be to get away from it all!
Seriously though if you are not tied to school holidays now is the time to take advantage of early season prices at a time of year when spring is still in the freshness of the air and the lushness of the vegetation.
We have seen some great value in some interesting destinations such as Turkey, Tunisia and Greece. Of course there are many reasons for this outstanding value not least the political and economic situations in these countries.
Much of the reluctance to book some of these places is based on very limited evidence of ‘problems’ when the fact is that according to FCO advice all are safe and stable places to visit with wonderful climate, culture and cuisine.
My only real advice is to ensure your holiday is booked with an ABTA and ATOL protected agency and operator so that in the event of any genuine problem arising you will be completely protected, financially and physically.
I am not advocating holidaying in war zones to save money! But the places I mention remain great holiday destinations and at this time of year are really good value.
Next month I will give some feedback from my own recent holiday with the family in Lanzarote, which is another place people seem to have mixed views about.
