Diggle Band Club was decked with balloons and banners in the charity’s bright colours as Margaret Hardy and daughters Karen, Paula and Linda raised a staggering £1,408 at their annual popular event.

Coffee, cakes, a home-made stall, a raffle and a tombola were all on offer, with fabulous prizes including vouchers for the Cross Keys Inn, handbags, chocolates, soaps and wine.
And a beautiful cake made by Kathleen Lambert, and iced by Lynn, was taken home by one lucky winner who correctly guessed its weight.
Meanwhile at the Old Bell Inn at Delph, around £400 was raised as generous visitors of all ages tucked into refreshments, with all cakes handmade by the pub’s chef Mark Pemberton.
And guests enjoyed a game of bingo and a charity raffle, all organised by Charlotte Jones.
Elsewhere, at Moonstone Gift Shop and Psychic Venue in Greenfield, another £185 was raised as Susan and Marcus Henthorn shared a mouth-watering spread of cakes, buns and drinks with customers.
At Beautify Saddleworth in Dobcross, Vikki Nash raised around £350 as she hosted a coffee morning for the charity, as well as celebrating the second birthday of her beauty and skincare therapy company.
Meanwhile at Springhead Community Centre cakes were swapped for Bacon Butties at their Saturday morning event which raised exactly £100 for the charity.
Betty and John Tomlinson raised another £236 at their event at Stoneswood Farm in Delph while £231.30 was mustered at the Scouthead and Austerlands Community Group’s coffee morning at the Three Crowns Inn and Restaurant.
And at Riverside in Kenworthy Gardens in Uppermill residents, relatives and friends gathered to enjoy coffee and cakes, as well as a raffle and stalls, and raised another £234.70.
Meanwhile, year three pupils at Knowlsey Junior School in Springhead tucked into a delicious array of cakes as they raised money for MacMillan Cancer.
Pupils and their parents enjoyed cakes, rolls, buns, scones and more at the Coffee Afternoon, organised Mrs Liz Oliver.
Cakes were donated by pupils, who also designed colourful plates in yellow and green to eat from, while refreshments were provided by Greg Barrett, community champion for Tesco at Greenfield.
