A SADDLEWORTH-BASED writer, actor and university lecturer is launching a new online writing school designed to make high-quality creative writing tuition accessible to people wherever they live.
Lisa Moore, who runs the Uppermill-based wellbeing and creativity business MooreLife, will launch MooreLife Writes this September, offering a series of boutique online courses for aspiring and experienced writers alike.

The programmes will cover creative writing, scriptwriting, comedy writing, poetry and performance, and character acting, with classes taught in small groups to allow for individual mentoring and detailed feedback.
Lisa, who holds a master’s degree in scriptwriting for television and radio, has spent her career teaching writing for radio, television, comedy and performance in higher education.
Alongside teaching, she works professionally as a scriptwriter, published author, poet and actor, bringing current industry experience into every course she delivers.
Participants will receive practical tuition alongside one-to-one support aimed at helping them build confidence, develop their skills and discover their own writing style.
Her debut poetry collection, And She Dances, is available in paperback and on Audible, while her latest work, pickled women work, is due to be performed at venues across the UK.
The first pilot programme has recently been completed, with participants producing work they are proud of. Many have already signed up to continue their writing journey when the next courses begin in September.
Lisa said: “I wanted to create something more personal than large writing courses. Small groups allow me to work closely with every writer, helping them build confidence, develop their craft and find their own unique voice.
“Watching people discover stories they never realised they had to tell has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.”
Because the courses are delivered live online, they are designed to be accessible to people regardless of location and are particularly suited to those balancing work, caring responsibilities, disabilities or other commitments that make travelling difficult.
Lisa hopes MooreLife Writes will create a supportive creative community while opening up opportunities for more people to develop their writing.
Based in Uppermill, MooreLife also offers yoga, meditation, retreats, corporate wellbeing programmes and other creativity-focused activities, with the new writing school marking the latest expansion of the business.
