A HIGH-FLYING solicitor has swapped the legal life for a more tranquil job… as a yoga teacher.
Adi Frankovitch, 43, of Greenfield has been teaching yoga since 2009 and in February this year decided to take on the role full time.
Adi, who has two sons, began by holding Monday classes at 7pm at the Methodist Church in Greenfield and Tuesday sessions at Kiln Green
Diggle at 7.15pm.
It was not long before her popularity grew and she added more dates and times across the community including Wednesdays at St Anne’s Church Lydgate at 5pm and Friday at Lees Street Education Centre in Uppermill on Friday at 10.30am.
And Adi, who now uses Christ Church Friezland as her base, has made sure her classes cater for all ages and abilities.
She explained: “I teach yoga as a very classic style focusing on relaxation and perfect posture. I started yoga myself after suffering from panic attacks and anxiety.
“Anybody can do yoga at any age you can even do yoga in a chair. You don’t need to be super fit.
“I even teach pregnant ladies and Mr Fowler, head of Diggle Primary, suggested a club for children.
“It is only cheap to come to one of my classes – £5 for an hour and a
half. I start off with standing exercises and provide mats in blocks for further exercises.
Adi also works with people with special needs, elderly clients to keep them active and mobile and people with injuries to help speed up the recovery process.
She is also a trained birth assistant in Doula, homebirthing where yoga can be really helpful. If any pregnant ladies would like to get in touch she can provide specific classes.
