THERE were scenes of celebration at Saddleworth School as pupils collected their GCSE and BTEC results in August.
More than 270 pupils sat exams, many of which were based on the new specifications with different assessment criteria.
Delighted with the results, headteacher Matthew Milburn said: “It’s always one of the best days of the year when former students return to school to pick up their results.
“This year we had a fantastic cohort, brilliantly led by Mr Pollard and Miss Riozzi, and it was a delight to see them celebrate together as they opened the envelopes.
“I know so many of them are going on to college, apprenticeships or employment and the results they collected are like a ticket that enables them to progress to the next stage in life.
“On behalf of the entire Saddleworth School team, I’d like to wish every student well for the future.”
He continued: “What was also pleasing was the number of colleagues who were in school to celebrate the outstanding achievements with the pupils.
“We are very lucky to work at a school with so many brilliant students and such a supportive staff team.
“I know from speaking to colleagues that there is a real excitement around the school at the moment and we are looking forward to starting the new term in September.”
