UNFORTUNATELY THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
ALL THE hits from top rock band Smokie will raise the roof at Uppermill Civic Hall this month as a dedicated musician takes the stage in tribute to his father’s legacy.
Former Smokie frontman Alan Barton was working on material for his second solo album when he died in a tour bus accident in 1995.
A decade later his son Dean decided to finish the project and, together with Alan’s friends Andy Whelan and Graham Kearns, A Room With A View was created.
So began Spirit Of Smokie, formed with Andy, Graham and Smokie’s original drummer Ron Kelly as they pay tribute to Alan and his band’s music.
After spending recent years playing to sell-out crowds in Europe and Asia, Spirit Of Smokie are playing some gigs back in the UK.
And on Friday, October 30 they are appearing at Uppermill Civic Hall.
Expect all the hits, including Living Next Door To Alice, which was No1 in Germany for nine weeks, along with If You Think You Know How To Love Me, Needles And Pins and Oh Carol.
There will also be a selection of new tracks including Stay With Me Till Dawn.
Tickets cost £20 and are available online from tickeline.co.uk or from Uppermill or Greenfield Post Offices.
