SNOOKER ACE Steve Davis OBE will be a star attraction at this year’s Saddleworth Summer Show in July.
Steve, who has won more professional titles in the sport than any other player including six world championships, will take on all-comers in a marathon Charity Pool Challenge.

His appearance, arranged by one of the show’s major sponsors AWC Home Improvements, will give the audience a chance to play against him and make a donation in aid of Doctors Kershaw’s Hospice.
And show organisers plan to ensure the circus really does come to town in style at the area’s biggest two-day event on Saturday and Sunday, July 13-14 at Saddleworth School, Uppermill.
Organised jointly by Saddleworth Rotary Club and Oldham Metro Rotary Club, all proceeds this year will be donated to Rotary charities and support the BBC Radio Manchester Christie Million Pound Appeal.
Building on last year’s spectacular event, the main family attraction will be Circus Sensible, staging two action-packed comedy shows each day in a baby big top.
They will also provide circus craft workshops throughout the weekend for adults and children.
This year there will be more internal and external displays with a falconry show, chainsaw and wood carving displays and brass bands a feature in the main area.
Other outside attractions include llamas and exotic breeds, drystone walling, sheep shearing, donkey rides, children’s go-karts, the popular fun fair and a climbing wall.

The RRG new car display with many other commercial stands feature in the school’s grounds and there will be a large selection of food and drink offers, including a beer tent.
Tickets for the legendary Duck Race will be available prior to and during the show for the race which takes place on Sunday afternoon on the River Tame.
A packed schedule of musical items is planned with a young performers’ showcase in the main hall on both days plus the Abney Orchestra on Saturday. These will be backed up by a large selection of craft, charity and commercial stalls.
