IT HAS been raining outstanding Ofsted reports for two progressive Saddleworth day nurseries.
Twice within three days Swan Meadow Nurseries received top of the class gradings in all areas from inspectors for their two Delph based nursery provisions.
At Church Street – once the village umbrella factory – staff were delighted to maintain the highest Ofsted grading of ‘Outstanding’ in June 2017 also previously awarded in March 2013.
There was also cause for celebration at the Slackcote Lane site where inspector Patricia Graham upgraded Swan Meadow Cottage from ‘Good’ achieved in February 2013 to ‘outstanding’ in June 2017.
She noted: “Leaders are passionate about the care and education of children.
“They continually reflect on and monitor all aspects of the nursery provision, and make changes where needed.”
At Swan Meadow, Church Street Inspector Stephanie Nixon said: “Staff meticulously plan stimulating and exciting activities based on children’s interests and stage of development.
“As a result, all children are highly motivated to learn and make excellent progress from their starting points.”
Such high praise will delight parents whose youngsters, aged from six weeks to five-years-old, attend Swan Meadow Nurseries.
Swan Meadow opened in 2003, with a sister nursery opening in 2012 due to the high demand for places.
The nurseries open all year round and children attend for a variety of sessions. Swan Meadow Cottage also boasts a very successful Holiday Club catering for children aged 4 to 11 years.
In total, up to 55 part and full-time staff attend to over 250 children at the two locations.
The management teams of both nurseries were always optimistic Ofsted would be suitably impressed.
“We were always confident,” smiled Ashley Broadbent, Delph Manager. “We are very proud of what we do, and we do it very well.”
And there will be no resting on laurels at both nurseries.
“We will carry on investing in training, staff and the building,” added Aimee Gartland, Swan Meadow Cottage Manager.
“We are one of the few nurseries in Saddleworth with an outstanding Ofsted inspection and we aim to maintain our standards.”
