By Tom Paterson

INSPIRATIONAL SADDLEWORTH artists are holding a joint exhibition this month at the Gallery at Saddleworth Museum to showcase a variety of their works.

P6 Jack and Gill
ARTISTS: Jack and Gill

Gill Lees and Jack Gray’s pieces are available to view daily from 1pm to 4pm until Sunday, March 23.

They have both included portrait and figurative works, watercolour landscapes and retrospective work, as well as still life studies from Jack and flower paintings from Gill.

Gill said: “This is our third joint exhibition and we hope it’s an interesting mix of subject matter and different media.

“Both of us love portrait and figurative work which in Jack’s case is mostly in oil and my work is in pastel, acrylic or watercolour.”

The exhibition follows Jack’s recent excursion on the high seas teaching aboard a cruise liner, which he has done numerous times since 2012.

He also runs a regular Friday Art Group at Downey House in Royton from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, where Gill shares a Wednesday session from 1pm-3pm .

Meanwhile Gill is leader of the flourishing Springhead Art Group which meets at Springhead Community Centre every Tuesday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and also holds monthly life classes there on Saturdays.
