To Infinity and beyond

EVERYONE STRUGGLES with technology from time to time – but a group of local servers are seeking to secure a stronger connection between Saddleworth residents and their computers.

Infinity Computing LTD in Uppermill provides help and support for individuals and businesses, as well as offering a selective showcase of products and services.

Co-owner and director Alison Brannon, 39, husband Steven, 36 and brother-in-law Paul McFarlane, 42, first began providing IT support and equipment for schools and companies from home.

They continued to establish their services, developing their workshop in Delph before centralizing themselves within the heart of Uppermill earlier this year.

Alison said: “We decided moving more central would expand our market and allow people to walk in off the high street and ask us to help them out.”

Offering anything and everything to do with computers, the trio aims to untangle the worldwide web, providing advice, workshops and classes for all ages and abilities.

Alison said: “People are worried when they walk into a shop to talk about computers that they’re going to be bombarded with technical jargon and sales pitches, but that’s not what we’re all about.

“We pride ourselves on being approachable and easy to talk to. We want people to be able to come in and talk to us in their language and be sure of good, honest advice.

“Sometimes people just want to buy, buy, buy but we want to make sure they manage to get everything set up properly and leave with the product and service that’s right for them.’’

And this intention to serve customers well has helped the technological trio enjoy a successful step into local service as they look set to cement their developing project further.
