Top brass bands take the stage in Saddleworth for charity

AN EVENING of brass band music will raise the roof at the Civic Hall in Uppermill on Saturday, March 21 to raise much-needed funds for charity.

‘The Very Best of Brass’ will see Oldham Band (Lees) take to the stage along with very special guests young band Manger Folkehøgskule from Norway.

The concert is in aid of the Saddleworth Parish Council’s chairman’s chosen charities, which are The MS Society, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Oldham Mountain Rescue Team.

Organiser Phil Beckwith commented: “Oldham Band are superb and they are joined by one of the top young bands all the way from Norway.

“It promises to be a fantastic night and is all in aid of good causes.”

Compere for the evening will be Gilbert Symes, from Delph, and the concert starts at 8pm.
