RENOVATIONS ARE well underway at a top Lydgate hotel as they are converting cosy nearby cottages into new accommodation ideal for families.

The White Hart Inn already boasts 12 ensuite guest bedrooms – each named after local dignitaries – at its main historic building overlooking surrounding villages.
And soon, four new suites will also be available to offer families a more comfortable and luxurious stay once the cottages next door but one have been transformed.
Charles Brierley, owner of the White Hart, said: “Renovations to ‘The Cottage’ have started in earnest.
“We regularly have families stay at the White Hart, and due to the size of the rooms, we have only ever been able to do so by putting temporary fold down beds out.
“This works, but doesn’t provide for best comfort. The Cottage will have a main bedroom and separate room for the kids as well as ensuite facilities.”
He continued: “The development will also include one of the rooms on the ground floor room for wheelchair access.
“Due to the nature of the White Hart with all rooms on the first and second floors, we haven’t been able to offer proper disabled access before.
“Finally, a guest using a wheelchair will have ground floor access to virtually all our facilities.”

All rooms will be finished to the highest standards just like the existing offerings, including deluxe bathrooms, wifi and room service.
Guests can also dine at the hotel, which has an extensive food and drinks menu, and offers private rooms to cater for functions of all kinds.
And the inn is also celebrating as they have recently been voted in the Top 50 Food Pubs in Britain in the Good Food Guide 2016.
Proud Charles added: “Congratulations to all our dedicated staff! We’re delighted and want to thank all our customers who continue to support us.”
