OLDHAM UNDER-11s became the first team from the town at any age to reach the final of a Lancashire Schools’ Cricket Association knockout.
Sadly they failed to lift the Bob Hurst Rosebowl losing to Bury by 118 runs in the one-sided final at Newton-le-Willows.
However, Oldham produced some terrific performances en route to the final.

They beat Tameside by five wickets, Uppermill’s Will Potts taking one wicket for two runs from six overs.
Then in a two-wicket won against Wigan, Greenfield’s Jack Livesey made 34 with Saddleworth’s Jacob Holt and Isaac Jones, of Delph, each claiming two wickets.
Oldham defeated Ribble Valley by seven wickets in the semi final, Potts taking 4-21 and Jones 2-15.
Livesey was the star of the show in the semi-final win at Bolton making 96 not out while Holt claimed 3-27 and Jones 2-15.
The players representing Oldham from Saddleworth clubs were: Thomas Mayor, Jack Livesey, Nathan Walker and Joe Aston (Greenfield); Isaac Jones and Lucas Selby (Delph); Jacob Holt (Saddleworth); Will Potts (Uppermill).
