IT HAS been a winter to remember for Saddleworth Cricket Club under-nines.
They won the Oldham Cricket Development Group’s indoor league after completing the campaign with a 100-per-cent record.
Saddleworth clinched the title by beating Austerlands in their last match.
And club secretary Graham Oldham describes the group as special.
He said: “This team started out as five and six-year-olds and has completed three seasons together – last season they lost only one game.
“It has been a team effort. They are all decent players and nearly all are sons of cricketers so they have had a good grounding.”
Graham added that the team’s success is having spin offs as they are getting new players turning up regularly to attend indoor nets as they prepare for the new outdoor season.
