A UNIQUE surprise was flavour of the day as a Saddleworth Parish councillor celebrated his 65th birthday…
Cllr Neil Allsopp was given an impressive ‘birthday pie’ rather than a cake by his wife Carol and their son Richard, who came up with the idea.
Neil explained: “It has three tiers – the bottom is a large pork pie, the middle is a meat and potato, and the top is a steak and onion. The letters are delicious shortcrust pastry.
“I’ve already started on the middle pie. With chips & gravy, of course!”
The birthday pie was carefully created by Andrea Roebuck at The Little Saddleworth Pie Company.
