UPPERMILL is embracing the Christmas season once more as homes and businesses will decorate and light up their windows for a sixth life-sized advent calendar.
From Sunday, December 1, Uppermill Advent will unveil an eye-catching design each day by local people, businesses, charities and schools in windows across the village.
The displays will be available to view from 4pm-9pm each day and will remain in place until January 5, 2020.
New participants joining the calendar this year include Uppermill Library, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides, alongside long-time participants such as the 20th Oldham Scout Group.

Erica Ryan, founder and co-ordinator, commented: “I am always very excited about a new Advent Calendar!
“We were joined last year by St Chad’s Church at their Parish Centre and this time they are planning a window up at the church itself, which should be cool.”
With a sleek new look and lots of plans, this year’s calendar aims to be better than ever. Maps for the windows locations are available on the Uppermill Advent Facebook page and website.
