UPPERMILL FC are getting the taste for playing foreign opposition.
The juniors recently played a club on tour from America and on Sunday their senior players tackled a team from China.
Beijing Rangers, a veterans’ team is here for a fortnight and based in Manchester.
Their sponsors were Googling for possible opponents and found Uppermill FC who they played on Sunday at Churchill Playing Fields.
The visitors first went to watch Manchester United play Stoke City before heading to Saddleworth for the match. The game ended 2-2 with Uppermill winning 5-2 on penalties.
Uppermill officials presented their opponents with an engraved silver salver and a pennant.
