Are you feeling like there are not enough hours in the day and your ‘to do’ list just keeps getting longer and longer?
Help and business support services from ‘Virtual Assistant’ Sarah Bottomley, who lives in Springhead, could be just what you need to help make life run more smoothly.
From PA and secretarial services, event co-ordination and marketing support, to proof reading, copy writing and basic book keeping, Sarah offers a host of bespoke services.
Helping others comes as second nature to Sarah, who worked as a PA at senior management level for Granada TV, followed by 11 years as Programme Co-ordinator for Coronation Street.
The role included glittering corporate hospitality events and award ceremonies with celebrities and VIPs as well as extensive liaison with the actors.
Sarah left it all behind in 2010 to care full-time for her mum Dorothy, who suffered from severe dementia and died in March 2015, but she is now raring to get back to work.
“I need to feel and be useful again as that is what I have always done,” said Sarah, 50. “I am incredibly organised and love to plan so want to use those skills to help out businesses.”
“Whether you need help with a one-off project or on-going support, I am here to assist and free up your time so you can focus on running your business.”
Sarah, who has postgraduate qualifications in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations, in addition to a postgraduate Diploma for Personal Assistants with advanced secretarial skills, has also dived into community life as a busy Saddleworth WI committee member.
She admitted it has been a long journey to re-adjust after her mum’s death but she now has a determined eye fixed on her goals.
“My mum knew everyone and was involved in everything and I guess I am a chip off the old block because I want to be involved in community life too,” she said.
“We cared for my dad Philip who died in 2002 then I cared for mum and gave up my flat in Chorlton and my job to move in and look after her.
“My job on Coronation Street was fantastic and it was big wrench to leave but I wouldn’t change a thing. My mum was my best friend and I wanted to look after her.
“After she died, it has taken me about a year to re-adjust and get to the point when I could get out of bed on a Monday morning feeling ready to go.
“I didn’t want to start trekking to Manchester to work again but felt I wanted to be here, working in the community. I am ready to build up this business to help myself and others.”
