Volunteers out in force to clean up the community

NEARLY 20 volunteers, including three youngsters, helped give Greenfield and Grasscroft an early Spring clean.

Despite torrential rain, litter pickers from Street Scene and the Greenfield and Grasscroft Residents’ Association removed rubbish from a number of grot spots and footpaths.
Two hours after setting off, the group re-convened with 27 bags, one picture and one umbrella. The litter was later collected by Oldham Council.

Refreshments were provided, courtesy of Tesco’s Greenfield, at Boarshurst Band Club where junior volunteers, Erin Jackson, Jorja and JJ Crees, received certificates of appreciation from organisers.
