WATERHEAD SHEPHERDS Boy have been crowned first division champions in the Saddleworth Charity Pool League.

They finished 14 points clear of runners-up Diggle Hanging Gate, who were also cup winners.
There was an even more decisive margin of victory in division two where Uppermill Granby won the title and were 19 points clear of second-placed Uppermill Commercial A.
Each of the winning teams will be choosing which charity they are to donate £250.
Special mention goes to two teams in their first season in the league: Uppermill Granby for winning division two and for getting to a cup semi final and to Springhead Liberal A for winning the Second Chance Cup and finishing third in division two.

Teams promoted to division one are Uppermill Granby and Uppermill Commercial A while the two teams relegated from division one are Woodbrook Spinners and Mossley Blazing Rag.
Individual merit winners were Jack Holden, from division one, with 20 singles wins out of 21, and from division two Ben Willis who had 18 singles wins out of 19.
The action is not over, however, as over the next five weeks the singles and doubles knockouts are being staged.
