A POPULAR Saddleworth music festival is making a comeback after a two-year absence, with organisers unveiling the first acts for its long-awaited return.
Wellifest will return to Well-i-Hole in Greenfield on Saturday, July 3, 2027, bringing live music and entertainment back to the venue following cancellations in 2025 and 2026.
Organised by Rotary Saddleworth and Rotary Oldham Metro, the charity festival has become a familiar fixture in the local events calendar since launching in 2018.
The first acts confirmed for next summer include Oasis tribute band Oasiz, alongside Groove Mental, Gumball, Emma Stelfox and the Jackson Kay Band.

Organisers have promised further announcements as preparations gather pace.
The comeback follows disappointment in February 2025, when organisers revealed that the festival would not go ahead that summer because of difficulties behind the scenes.
At the time, they explained that changes within the organisation and problems securing the site had prevented arrangements from being finalised.
In a statement announcing the cancellation, organisers said: “Wellifest will not return until 2026 as this year’s proposed event hit a few major snags that have led us to the point that we have to make this announcement.”
They added: “We have plenty of exciting acts lined up and hopefully we can return next year even bigger and better.”

However, the festival did not take place in 2026, extending its absence to two years.
Now, with a date and the first performers confirmed, attention is turning to the event’s return.
Wellifest has previously raised thousands of pounds for charitable causes, with proceeds supporting local organisations and community initiatives.
The festival will once again take place at Well-i-Hole Road in Greenfield, bringing together music fans from across Saddleworth and beyond.
Further acts and event details are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
